Part of the collection at the Great Mosque of Demak is an artifact that is so guarded. The portico door leaf is made of wood and intricately carved with geometric patterns that reflect the architectural traditions of the art of that time. The porch is a common feature in Javanese architecture, serving as a transitional space between the inner space of the mosque and the outside world. The porch door leaves provide functionality as well as aesthetic appeal, which serves as a barrier and a work of art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
