Wood carving
The wood carvings on the walls of mosques are most likely related to religious texts, such as verses of the Quran or Hadith (sayings and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad). In addition, it displays writings or other works of art related to the Islamic religion, such as Arabic calligraphy with geometric designs. The extension of wood carvings in the Great Mosque of Demak is mainly decorative and aesthetic. Intricately carved in detail as well as displaying information relating to history and years , the various motif patterns are inspired by Javanese art and culture. The panels also serve as a tribute to Javanese art and skills that showcase the skills and the artists.
